Our Light Canister Set for the RPM Traxxas Slash Front Bumper (#80952, #80953 or #80955) is designed to give the appearance of a Baja Desert Truck with its scale off-road light design. Each of its four lights is modeled after a full-sized, 6” off-road light. Each individual light comes with a light canister (or housing), a clear lens and a light guard.

Our 4-light set also comes with a unique mounting plate that allows all four lights to sit centered in perfect symmetry within the upper and lower bars of our Slash front bumper. The mounting plate uses the same three screws that attach the bumper to the bumper skid plate while keeping the lights recessed and protected by the upper and lower bumper bars.

Yes, the lights look simply awesome on the front of the truck but why did we make them? Well, we wanted to light up the night! That’s right, each of the four light canisters come set-up for a 3mm LED light (not included). Our instructions detail a very simple method to install a set of 4 LEDs in our canisters to carry the fun long into the night. Our calculations show that adding 4 - 3mm LEDs and tying the power source directly into the main battery pack creates a minimal draw of power (only 40mAh) but throws out a nice amount of light to keep the fun going as daylight draws to an end!

For the ultimate in scale-realism, there is nothing better than the RPM Light Canister set. They are available in classic black or bright chrome. Either looks incredible on the truck and adds the finishing touch to any concourse winning paint job!

Traxxas Slash Front Bumper & Skid Plate
They’re here! An all-new bumper design for the Traxxas Slash (the only molded bumper made in the USA)! Our two-piece design is simple, yet strong, effective and highly attractive. We made it a two-piece design to give the Slash owner the option of full front-end bash-proof and crash-proof protection with both the skid plate and bumper installed or if a racing profile is wanted, the front bumper can be removed and the skid plate by itself can be run as a light-weight alternative bumper / skid plate that shreds 27 grams (almost a full ounce) of weight from the front end of the truck. Once the race is over, reinstall the bumper and full bash protection is once again available!

Our Traxxas Slash front bumper design completely eliminates the stock chassis-to-bumper support ring and the 5 screws holding the support ring in place. Additionally, the RPM version uses a thicker skid design (more than 60% thicker than the stock skid!) to supply the cushioning resistance a basher-proof bumper needs. Even though our thicker, more stout front bumper and skid plate is significantly stronger and more beefy than stock, it still falls in at a weight that is slightly less than the stock front bumper*. So even if the racer wants to run a full RPM front bumper and skid plate, they won’t have to worry about adding unwanted weight. To help improve overall durability, our skid rail design is wider than stock, which perfectly matches the design of our front and rear Slash skid plates.

The RPM front bumper and skid plate for the Traxxas Slash is available in three color options: black on black, blue on blue or a chrome bumper on a gray skid plate. We’re so confident in the strength and durability of these new bumpers that they too come with our unbeatable factory warranty protection. 

*Our weight comparison is based on the weight of the stock Traxxas bumper along with the weight of the support ring and hardware (all of which is permanently removed once the RPM bumper / skid plate is installed).

Traxxas Slash Rear Skid Plates
RPM rear skid plates for the Traxxas Slash are designed to eliminate the frustration of broken skid plates and chassis. When a stock rear skid plate fails, it can rip the rear shock tower mounting screws out of the chassis, causing a catastrophic failure usually resulting in the rear end sailing in a different direction than the rest of the truck. With RPM skid plates mounted, that problem will be a thing of the past!

RPM rear Slash skid plates are completely redesigned, making them stronger and much more durable. Our unique design use three chassis mounting points instead of two, triangulating the chassis mounts on the truck, in turn spreading impact energy over a larger area. This is done using a hole already located in the stock chassis, meaning no drilling is required. We also eliminated the cross-tube styling of the stock skid plates in favor of a solid flat skid design with a large radius at the transition points to allow the truck to slide over obstacles that would have normally caught on the stock rear skid plate. That means no more direct impacts to the lower rear end of the truck, which is the primary source of a broken chassis.

As a final design touch, we added four thick skid rails on both the front and rear skid plates which reduce sliding friction while improving the overall durability of the skid plates and the truck. At the tail end of the rear skid plate, a skid rail runs from side to side to protect the lower transmission screw and rear bumper mount while providing a smooth transitional surface.

Tech Notes: Stock rear bumper mounts (Traxxas #3677) will not work with RPM skid plates. To retain the use of a rear bumper or wheelie bar, RPM #80902 or #80905 must be used. RPM skid plates are designed for and only guaranteed to fit a stock Traxxas Slash chassis and chassis components.

Traxxas Slash Front Skid Plates

RPM front skid plates for the Traxxas Slash are designed using the same principles we used when creating our Slash rear skid plates. Our ultimate goals were to create a front skid plate that simplified maintenance, improve durability and improve the appearance of the truck. these skid plates far exceeded those goals!

The RPM front skid plate features a new bell crank mounting system that eliminates the need to remove the bell crank every time the front skid plate is removed. We accomplished this goal by using a pair of posts that press into the chassis of the truck and another pair of posts molded into the skid plate. This sandwiches the bell crank between the skid plate and chassis and supports both the upper and lower portions of the bell crank, reducing steering slop and giving a more precise feel to the steering system. This system simplifies maintenance and eliminates the annoying problem of the bell crank screws popping out of the chassis support holes after an impact to the front end.

Our front skid plate also uses a triangulated chassis mounting system that uses a support post in the center of the skid plate to bolt up to a pre-existing hole in the stock Traxxas chassis. This third hole not only adds some serious strength and durability, it adds some much needed structural support to the bell cranks.

As a final touch, we recessed the screw heads of the front two flat head mounting screws deeper than the stock skid plates to help reduce damage to the screw heads.

Snap Tite Body Savers
One of the weakest points on a Lexan body is where the body mounts to the chassis. The holes cut in the body for the body posts have a tendency to crack & fracture. This is the reason RPM designed these cool body savers. With their ideal two piece design, it allows one piece to slide through the bottom of the body while the second piece snaps into place from the top of the body. These body savers stay right where you put them, on the body, so you never have to worry about chasing them around! Improve the life of your body significantly with a set of these Body Saver Washers installed!
These body savers fit 1/4" or 6mm dia. body posts such as those found on the Traxxas Slash, Traxxas Slayer, Losi 1/10th scale vehicles and most sedan 6mm. body posts. Molded in black nylon or a dyeable white, these Snap-Tite Body Saver Washers will match or contrast any paint scheme you create! Sold in sets of five body savers in each package.
