Nerf Bars

Nerf bars play an extremely important function in the overall
durability of a Short Course racer by protecting the sides of the chassis
and fragile body of the truck. A weak nerf bar can expose the body and
chassis to severe impact damage from side impacts, roll over’s and
T-bone crashes, just to name a few.
RPM
has once again stepped up to make the most durable and well-designed nerf
bar for the Traxxas Slash 2wd and Slash 4x4. The RPM nerf bar
eliminates the stock hook-over-the-chassis that supports the nerf bar and
replaced it with a structural cross rib running parallel to the chassis
for optimum rigidity and anti- deformation
characteristics. By eliminating the hook, installation is easier; the nerf
bar doesn’t have to be deformed to get it in position and the nerf bar
no longer pulls on the side of the chassis when it takes a hit.
We
also switched to a full round radius in the compression area of the nerf
bar. The stock trapezoidal shape forces too much impact energy into the
tiny corner radii near the body support area, usually ending in a break.
The RPM nerf bars’ full corner radii are huge in
comparison and allow a progressive compression of the nerf bar while
distributing the impact energy over a much larger area, preventing
breakage by design.

design element changes, coupled with the best impact absorbing material in
the R/C industry, make RPM nerf bars the best Slash and
Slash 4x4 nerf bars available!

Traxxas Slash 2wd Rear
Bumper Mount
After
hearing numerous requests to look into the rear bumper mount on the
Traxxas Slash, we found several issues that could use the RPM
touch. Those same problems were encountered on e-Rustler, e-Stampede &
Bandit vehicles using the stock wheelie bar mount. The problem – the
stock mount uses only a single screw on the gear cover side to hold the
mount in place. That causes a hinge effect under rear impacts causing the
slotted area holding on to the rear skid plate to pop off after an impact,
leaving the stock bumper / wheelie bar mount hanging under the chassis.
The RPM solution… An all-new bumper mounting system that
eliminates all of the problems encountered with the stock version.
The RPM rear
bumper / wheelie bar mount has two mounting holes on the gear cover side
and three on the motor side – that’s two additional mounting points to
eliminate that annoying hinge effect mentioned above. The additional
mounting screws help disperse impact energy into the transmission case
over more surface area, reducing the possibility
of damaging the case significantly! The new RPM mount design
means no more slotted parts hanging below the rear skid plate – ever!
Our mount tucks up quite nicely behind the skid plate for better rear end
ground clearance.
Our rear
bumper / wheelie bar mount fits a wide range of vehicles too. It fits all
versions of the Traxxas Slash, electric Stampede, electric Rustler and
Bandit including VXL, XL-5 and legacy versions.
The RPM rear bumper /
wheelie bar mount is molded in our nearly indestructible blend of nylons
and is sold in either blue or black. Each mount comes with all necessary
hardware, complete instructions for ease of installation and an
industry-leading warranty to back it all up!

Traxxas Slash 2wd Rear A-arms
(not compatible with the
Nitro Slash)
RPM
rear A-arms for the Traxxas Slash 2wd are designed specifically for the
electric version of the Slash
– they are not multi-platform A-arms like the stock versions.
Our
first design challenge was to beef up the rear A-arms
to handle some serious abuse. The material around the inner and outer
hinge pins has been increased by a whopping 64%! We then eliminated all of
the unnecessary holes and shock mounts that would be needed on other
vehicles but not on the Slash, which significantly reduced the weight of
our A-arms while improving crash durability. Even after all of the
increased muscle has been factored in, our A-arms still come in at over
10% lighter than the original arms! Our final design task was to improve
the fit and
finish and what we came up with will eliminate most of the slop in the
rear suspension system! The Slash owner can tighten things up to near
perfect out back simply by adding in a set of our #80382
Rear Bearing Carriers currently available. RPM Slash
2wd rear A-arms use stock suspension geometry and include stock rear toe
angles.
RPM
Slash 2wd rear A-arms are not only stronger and more durable than stock, they
are also more rigid and less flexible too, making them the perfect
addition to those race-level Slashes on the track. Additionally, the new geometry design leaves no place for dirt and rocks to get caught in the
lower A-arm and reduces the chances of rocks and debris getting stuck
between the axle and the arm.
RPM
Slash 2wd rear A-arms are sold in pairs. They are molded in our nearly
indestructible blend of nylons and are sold in either black our blue.
These A-arms are backed by our limited lifetime warranty against breakage
as well for confidence-inspiring durability and performance.
Tech
Notes: These a-arms are not compatible with the Nitro
Slash. Stock rear axle carriers have an upper and lower hinge
pin hole. RPM Slash 2wd Rear A-arms only allow the use of the
original, lower hole location to be used. The upper axle carrier hole
(which would lower the ride height in the back too much) cannot be used.
To lower the rear end of the truck, RPM recommends using the
outer shock mount hole positions in the A-arm.

Sealed Gear Cover for
the Traxxas Slash 2wd,
Elec. Rustler, Elec. Stampede & Bandit

The
most recent electric versions of the Slash 2wd, Rustler, Stampede and Bandit have several new features that caused interference issues with our
original RPM molded gear cover for the Stampede &
Rustler. We expanded the area of the gear cover over the motor shaft to
compensate for the longer motor shaft of the XL-5 & VXL motors. We
narrowed two areas along the perimeter of the gear cover to allow
clearance for the rear bumper / wheelie bar mount as well. These changes
now allow this gear cover to fit all versions of these awesome vehicles. Additional
features designed into these gear covers include such important aspects
as:
- An oversized access hole and
soft plug for easy access to the slipper clutch nut while still
maintaining an unmatched seal of the gear mesh area. Our plug stays in
place yet is easy to remove and install.
- Completely sealed. Stock gear
covers have a large, open gap between the spur gear and the out-drive
that allows gear destroying dirt to enter.
- Sleek contours that would
look great on any vehicle.
- More clearance for larger
pinions for owners hungry for speed.
- Retains all stock geometry
for easy bolt up; no cutting or gluing required.

Rear Shock Tower

RPM
rear shock towers for the electric versions of the Stampede, Rustler &
Bandit as well as the Slash were designed with one thing in mind – rugged durability. Once
again, we’ve exceeded our own expectations with this shock tower. While
we’ve maintained all stock geometry on these shock towers, we’ve
beefed them up in all the right places to eliminate annoying rear shock
tower breakage. Our version of this shock tower uses an I-Beam
construction that improves durability and rigidity as well. At the base of
the shock tower, we’ve improved the screws’ head clearance of the
bulkhead mounting screws to eliminate the bind normally associated with
the stock rear shock tower. All
these design elements combine to create the ultimate lightweight,
bulletproof rear shock tower for the electric versions of the Rustler
& Stampede.
RPM

warranty. These towers are direct replacement parts for ease of
installation.

Front Shock Tower

shock towers for Traxxas 1/10th scale trucks are designed to add strength
and support to the front-end suspension components of these great
vehicles. Our shock towers maintain all stock geometry while adding much
needed structural strength to this vital suspension component. Our design
uses an I-beam structure that adds tremendous levels of strength and
rigidity that is far superior to u-shaped or flat designs. Our front shock
towers will not flex nearly as easily as the stock versions yet have
enough give in them, which prevents breakage from hard impacts or crashes.
RPM shock towers are
molded in black and are made from our well-reputed blend of materials.
These shock towers are so strong; we back them with our extremely
well known policy against breakage.
