Slash 2wd & Slash 4x4
has once again stepped up to make the most durable and well-designed nerf
bar for the Traxxas Slash 2wd and Slash 4x4. The RPM nerf bar
eliminates the stock hook-over-the-chassis that supports the nerf bar and
replaced it with a structural cross rib running parallel to the chassis
for optimum rigidity and anti-deformation
characteristics. By eliminating the hook, installation is easier; the nerf
bar doesn’t have to be deformed to get it in position and the nerf bar
no longer pulls on the side of the chassis when it takes a hit.
also switched to a full round radius in the compression area of the nerf
bar. The stock trapezoidal shape forces too much impact energy into the
tiny corner radii near the body support area, usually ending in a break.
The RPM nerf bars’ full corner radii are huge in
comparison and allow a progressive compression of the nerf bar while
distributing the impact energy over a much larger area, preventing
breakage by design.
Our design element changes, coupled with the best impact absorbing material in the R/C industry, make RPM nerf bars the best Slash and Slash 4x4 nerf bars available!
Notes: RPM Nerf Bars are only tested and
guaranteed to fit the stock Traxxas Slash 2wd and Slash 4x4 chassis.
Traxxas Slash 2wd Rear
The RPM rear
bumper / wheelie bar mount has two mounting holes on the gear cover side
and three on the motor side – that’s two additional mounting points to
eliminate that annoying hinge effect mentioned above. The additional
mounting screws help disperse impact energy into the transmission case
over more surface area, reducing the possibility
of damaging the case significantly! The new RPM mount design
means no more slotted parts hanging below the rear skid plate – ever!
Our mount tucks up quite nicely behind the skid plate for better rear end
bumper / wheelie bar mount fits a wide range of vehicles too. It fits all
versions of the Traxxas Slash, electric Stampede, electric Rustler and
Bandit including VXL, XL-5 and legacy versions.

Our first design challenge was to beef up the rear A-arms to handle some serious abuse. The material around the inner and outer hinge pins has been increased by a whopping 64%! We then eliminated all of the unnecessary holes and shock mounts that would be needed on other vehicles but not on the Slash, which significantly reduced the weight of our A-arms while improving crash durability. Even after all of the increased muscle has been factored in, our A-arms still come in at over 10% lighter than the original arms! Our final design task was to improve the fit and finish and what we came up with will eliminate most of the slop in the rear suspension system! The Slash owner can tighten things up to near perfect out back simply by adding in a set of our #80382 Rear Bearing Carriers currently available. RPM Slash 2wd rear A-arms use stock suspension geometry and include stock rear toe angles.
RPM Slash 2wd rear A-arms are not only stronger and more durable than stock, they are also more rigid and less flexible too, making them the perfect addition to those race-level Slashes on the track. Additionally, the new geometry design leaves no place for dirt and rocks to get caught in the lower A-arm and reduces the chances of rocks and debris getting stuck between the axle and the arm.
RPM Slash 2wd rear A-arms are sold in pairs. They are molded in our nearly indestructible blend of nylons and are sold in either black our blue. These A-arms are backed by our limited lifetime warranty against breakage as well for confidence-inspiring durability and performance.
Tech Notes: These a-arms are not compatible with the Nitro Slash. Stock rear axle carriers have an upper and lower hinge pin hole. RPM Slash 2wd Rear A-arms only allow the use of the original, lower hole location to be used. The upper axle carrier hole (which would lower the ride height in the back too much) cannot be used. To lower the rear end of the truck, RPM recommends using the outer shock mount hole positions in the A-arm.
