Shock
Shaft Guards
(Fits Traxxas 1/10th Scale
Shocks)
Rocks,
dirt and debris striking shock shafts lead to dents, dings and burrs,
which in turn, leads to torn shock seals. Torn shock seals means leaky
shocks and poor shock performance. RPM Shock Shaft Guards
shield the shock shaft from those deteriorating elements, prolonging the
life of the shock shaft, which improves the long-term performance of the
suspension and in turn, prolongs the time between shock rebuilds!
RPM
Shock Shaft Guards are a simple design, replacing your stock shock spring
cup with one that has a thin but tough shield rising up to the base of the
shock body, completely blocking debris from striking the shock shaft. The
back and sides are open, which prevents debris from building inside the
guard as
well. The kit comes with replacement oversized shock rod ends, improving
durability and consistency on the shock pivot ball. Additionally, we
redesigned the top of the rod end so it is square. That square end keys
the shock shaft guard for directional control. The front shield of the
guard covers over 100 degrees of frontal exposure! RPM Shock
Shaft Guards are
zero friction protection devices, meaning the guard never touches the
working elements of the shock.
RPM
Shock Shaft Guards are sold in sets of four, including four rod ends for
the shocks and are stock replacement items. Nothing more is needed for
installation. Check out this partial
list of vehicles they will fit: Slash 2wd, Slash 4x4, Stampede 4x4, nitro
and electric versions of the Stampede 2wd and Rustler, Bandit, Nitro
Sport, T-Maxx & E-Maxx (see tech notes below), and many more including
vintage and legacy models.
RPM
Shock Shaft Guards are available in Black, Green, Blue and our Dyeable White
materials. Be sure to check out our FAQ pages here
for cool ways to dye and customize our dyeable parts to match or contrast
your chassis or paint schemes.
Tech
Notes: RPM Shock Shaft Guards fit all Traxxas
1/10th scale molded shocks as well as Traxxas Big Bore shocks but will not
fit the Traxxas Jato. They fit the T-Maxx and E-Maxx but will not work
with RPM T/E-Maxx A-arms due to clearance limitations on the
upper arm.

Narrow Roof Mounted
Light Bar Set
Our
first roof-mounted light bar sets (#80922,
#80923 & #80925) worked on all 1/8th and 1/10th scale Short
Course bodies, leaving a huge gap in who could run lights on their
vehicles. The RPM Narrow Roof-Mounted Light Bar Set cuts a
full 2” off of the width, reducing the number of LED light canisters to
four and allows virtually anyone running a vehicle with a minimum 4”
body width to run LED lights on their vehicle. The list of vehicles this
includes is quite extensive, including many popular sellers such as: Traxxas
T-Maxx, Traxxas Revo, Traxxas 1/16th scale Mini Slash, Traxxas Rustler,
Traxxas Stampede, Associated MGT, Associated T4, HPI Savage, HPI
E-Firestorm, HPI E-Firestorm Flux, Losi LST/LST2, Losi XXX-T, Duratrax
Evader and many, many more!
The
goal of our Narrow Roof-Mounted Light Bar Set was to recreate a scale
version of those light bars found in full-sized racing while striving for
some reasonable amount of crash-survivability. Our Light Bar Set uses a
unique hinged system that in the event of a rollover, the light bar will
fold against the body to help reduce impact damage. The light set is
designed to bolt to the front windshield of the truck (although with
sufficient room, it can be mounted to the rear window as well), keeping
the profile low and in the perfect position to light up the night. Each
kit comes with a pair of large backing plates that help protect the body
where the screws hold the light bar in place.
Each kit
comes complete with all necessary mounting hardware, light canisters,
molded parts and instructions. The instructions also show how to easily
create your own LED light set-up with a few basic electronics skills, some
tools and a little patience.
We
mold these light bar sets in black and chrome to match or contrast any
paint and color scheme.
Suggestions:

LED's instead of all 10 for this narrow light set.
Tech
Notes: LED lights are not included. The RPM
Narrow Roof-Mounted Light Bar Set can fit any number of applications. Due
to the scale appearance of this light bar set, we cannot properly
strengthen all aspects of the lights. Therefore, some warranty
restrictions may apply. See instructions for complete details.

Center Skid Plate &
Skid Plate Set
for the Traxxas T-Maxx #4908,
E-Maxx #3905 & Brushless Edition
The
extended chassis rails of the newer versions of both the T-Maxx and E-Maxx
would not allow our original center skid plate to bolt up to either of
these trucks without modification to the chassis rails. After quite a bit
of prodding from our customers, we now have a new center skid plate and
skid plate set designed specifically for the T-Maxx #4908 & E-Maxx
#3905 trucks.
Unlike the stock center skid
plate, our new molded center skid plate extends over the predominance of
the chassis rails with better than 4mm of bulletproof RPM
protection! The molded curves of our skid plate perfectly mate with the
chassis support rails and act as a reduced-friction transition surface
that prevents objects from hooking the stock rear skid plate. Other great
features include: deep recessed screw holes help eliminate damage to the
mounting screw heads, a matched
grooved finish from the front of the truck to the rear and provide
outstanding wear and impact resistance. The center skid plate provides a
more solid tie between the two chassis side rails for added support and
rigidity. Additionally, since our center skid plate runs the rearward
length of the chassis side rails, less dirt and debris will be forced into
the rear skid plate area of the chassis, improving driveline durability
and drive shaft bearing longevity.
RPM
skid plates are protected by our warranty against breakage and are molded
in either blue or black and sold with all necessary mounting hardware
(1/8" dia. drill not included). Like all RPM molded
products, RPM skid plates are proudly made in the USA.
Proven durability at competitive prices!
Tech
Notes: The E-Maxx & T-Maxx use different mounting hole
locations for the center mounting screws. We left the mounting holes blind
to prevent dirt build up in the holes that aren’t used. An 1/8”
diameter drill is required to drill out the correct mounting holes for the
vehicle the skid plate will be mounted on.
For older version T-Maxx, E-Maxx & S-Maxx trucks, our original T/E-Maxx
Center Skid Plates are the correct length for the chassis side
rails.
Please
Note: RPM skid / wear plates require the use of stock,
plastic skid plates, bulkheads, & (for center skid plates) chassis
braces. RPM skid plates will work with most aftermarket
aluminum front & rear skid plates but RPM guarantees the
fit only when used with stock parts.

T/E-Maxx True-Track Rear
A-arm Conversion
The
RPM True-Track Rear A-arm Conversion kit eliminates one of the biggest headaches
associated with the incredibly popular Maxx line of trucks. Rear toe angles are nearly
impossible to set accurately and there isn’t a gauge currently made that
can tell the T-Maxx / E-Maxx owner if each individual wheel’s toe angle
is set correctly in relation to the chassis. Our
rear end kit completely eliminates the rear toe link,
locking in the rear toe angle at a solid negative 1.5 degrees per side for
a total rear toe of negative 3 degrees (of Toe-In), effectively
eliminating rear bump steer! Our design retains the stock upper pivot
ball in the RPM axle carrier to allow precise camber adjustments while the
lower pivot ball has been eliminated in favor of a rock-solid, beefy 4mm
diameter hinge pin
that locks-in the rear toe angles for race winning consistency. All
aspects of the RPM rear end conversion have been beefed up
for rugged durability and slop free movement throughout its range of
travel. We’ve completely redesigned the rear end yet all stock
suspension geometry has been retained. Additionally, we’ve incorporated
our oversized bearings (3mm larger in diameter than stock) into the design, providing 2mm more bearing contact
with the axle while doubling the bearing load rating & tripling the
fatigue rating over stock bearings. So does all this add weight? Not a
single gram! The entire RPM rear end kit weighs in
at exactly
the same as the
stock components that are replaced!
"Bump
Steer" Defined: So what is "bump steer"?
Bump steer is a change in the wheel's toe angle caused by the suspension
moving up or down. Bump steer is inherent to the geometry of the
suspension and steering system, and has nothing to do with turning the
steering wheel. The effect of bump steer is for the wheel to toe-in or
toe-out when the suspension moves up or down. This toe change or
“steering” occurs any time the suspension moves, whether it is from
body roll, brake-dive, or hitting a bump in the road. Bump steer is
undesirable because the suspension is steering the car instead of the
driver.
Bump steer is most common on the
front end of R/C vehicles due to the unavoidable use of a tie rod to allow
the vehicle to steer. Vehicles with a toe link rear end such as the T-Maxx
also have a similar amount of bump steer in the rear because the axle
carrier isn't locked in a fixed position and is constantly being pushed
and pulled by the toe link as the suspension moves up and down. This
doesn't account for the slop in the rod ends of the toe link either which
causes even more toe angle changes. See for yourself. Look down at your
vehicle from the top and compress the suspension. See what happens to the
rear toe angle? Each wheel changes by at least a degree or two which can
be quite significant. Now imagine that amount of movement while your
suspension arms are moving independently from each other and you'll
understand why the True-Track kit is such an effective tool to
dramatically improve suspension performance.
What’s
Included: Our rear end kit consists of two upper rear A-arms, two lower
rear A-arms, two beefy rear axle carriers, two outer 6x15mm sealed
bearings, two inner 12x21mm sealed bearings, two aluminum pivot ball
setscrews, two delrin pivot ball bushing cups (with more than twice the
contact area on the pivot ball as stock setscrews!), two 4mm diameter tool steel
hinge pins & enough e-clips to get the job done (4 minimum).
Recommendations:
The RPM True-Track System is designed to match RPM
A-arms (Part #80462 & #80465
- 2 packages needed) & Axle Carriers (#80582
& #80585 - 1 package needed) currently available for the
T/E-Maxx. With the True-Track system mounted at the rear and a set of RPM
replacement A-arms & Axle Carriers up front, you are assured the best
performing & most indestructible A-arm / Axle Carrier combination possible!
Tech
Notes: This rear end kit works on all T-Maxx 2.5R, T-Maxx 3.3, E-Maxx 16.8
& Brushless versions. It can be adapted to work on earlier versions
of the T/E-Maxx such as the T-Maxx 1.5, T-Maxx 2.5, S-Maxx & earlier E-Maxx
versions simply by upgrading the axles & tie rods to T-Maxx 3.3
versions. One kit will complete the entire rear end of your truck. Due to
the wide lower A-arm hinge pin configuration, some aftermarket wheels - in
particular, 3.2" beadlock wheels, may not work with RPM
True-Track kits. Check with the manufacturer of your aftermarket wheels
before installing this kit.
