Front & Rear A-arms for the Assoc. GT2
(Front A-arms fit the
SC10 & T4 - see Tech Notes Below)
The
long-running success of RPM A-arms for the original GT has
led to the release of our A-arms for the newest gas truck to come from
Associated – the GT2. RPM GT2 A-arms were designed to
solve several customer-related complaints about the stock A-arms. Foremost
is durability. Our GT2 front and rear A-arms are designed to withstand
some serious abuse! We’ve redesigned the entire front end, replacing the
stock front bulkhead with a version that helps spread
impact forces over a larger area at the inner hinge pin mounts. RPM
front A-arms are wider at the inner hinge pin mounts by nearly 3/16”
without altering suspension geometry. RPM GT2 rear A-arms
are just flat-out beefy!
We also focused on the hinge pin retaining system used on the stock
A-arms. Using a small screw hole so close to the hinge pin like the stock
arms do weakens the A-arms at that point. We moved the hinge pin retaining
screws
in-line with the hinge pins, significantly strengthening our A-arms in the
process. By eliminating the smaller 2-56 hinge pin retaining screws,
we’ve also eliminated the problem of the hinge pins falling out due to
varying screw head diameters, which seems to be a rather large problem.
Our final focus was on slop elimination. Our strict quality control allows
us to tighten up all of our tolerances without fear of binding the
suspension system. The final result – a smooth, free moving suspension
with minimal
slop. Our tighter tolerances on our A-arms allows other critical
adjustments such as camber and toe angles to be much more consistent,
which provides better and more consistent control of the GT2.
RPM GT2 A-arms come with all necessary mounting hardware and
instructions. RPM GT2 A-arms are sold in pairs while our
front A-arms are sold in pairs as well and include a new front bulkhead in
the package.
Tech
Notes: RPM Front A-arms can be used
on the Associated SC10 & T4. However, the outer front SC10 / T4 hinge pins will need to
be replaced with the outer front hinge pins from the GT2.
Additionally, the upright spacers used on the SC10 / T4 will no longer be needed.
RPM Front A-arms require the use of the bulkhead supplied
in the front A-arm kit. Stock bulkheads will not work with RPM A-arms. RPM
GT2 rear A-arms will not work on the SC10 or T4. Please see RPM
#70742 or #70745 for the SC10
& T4.

Assoc. GT2, B4
& T4 Mini Front Bumper
Race
oriented Associated GT2, B4 & T4 owners prefer lightweight, yet effective
parts. That is why RPM is proud to release our Mini
Front Bumper for these vehicles. Weighing in at a mere 5-3/4 grams, it is
small in size but big on performance. Our mini bumper is 30% thicker than
the stock skid plate providing tons of extra skid and impact resistance.
The RPM mini bumper extends in front of the vehicle and
curves up into a 2” wide bumper that actually performs as a bumper. It
protects both the chassis and the hinge pins from frontal impacts and acts
as a low-friction skid plate. Similar to our
Wide Front Bumpers, our mini bumpers also use all four
bulkhead mounting screws to disperse impacts over a larger area reducing
transferred impact forces by over 50%! As a finishing touch, our mini
bumpers have recessed mounting holes so all those nasty scrapes and
crashes will be absorbed by the bumper, not the screw heads! These bumpers are
molded in either blue or black
and mount using stock, existing hardware. For the ultimate in bash proof

& T4 Wide Front Bumper
The
stock front bumper on the Assoc. GT2, B4 & T4 is simply a miniature skid
plate. It does nothing to help protect the front end of the vehicle. The RPM
wide front bumper for the Assoc. GT2, B4 & T4 was designed to add in loads
of bash-proof protection! At a full 6” in width, our bumper can handle
some serious abuse! It extends far enough in front of the vehicle to
absorb some of the most brutal impacts without transferring the major
shock of the impact into the more fragile areas of the vehicle while
providing ample front-end chassis skid protection from hard landings. Our
front bumper also has strengthening ribs built into it that have a
multi-purpose design; The ribs not only add strength to the bumper, but
they act as low friction skid rails and they help protect the screw-heads
holding the bumper to the bulkheads. The RPM wide front
bumper for the GT2, B4 & T4 uses all four bulkhead mounting screws. This
helps disperse any impact forces that do make it to the chassis over twice
the area of a stock bumper, thereby reducing or eliminating damage to
other more fragile areas of the vehicle. RPM bumpers are
built using our trademark blend of bulletproof nylons and are molded in
black or blue. For the race
